[ you wake up on an abandoned spaceship in an unfamiliar quadrant of space, unhurt, but nauseated and dizzy, wearing whatever you were wearing before, with no possessions but what you were carrying with them.

the corridors are dark and grimy, dimly lit by lights that flicker now and then. it's cold enough to see your breath fog up before your face, but artificial gravity and life support seem to be working just fine.

Is that what this is? [ Says a voice nearby in the darkness and sorry, he didn't mean to startle Caroline. Then again, she probably sensed someone was there with her vampire senses.

This is also Lucas' first time on a space ship - in fact, it's his first time seeing one. Not that he's seen it from the outside... in fact, he can barely see the inside of it, what with the gloominess of it all. ]

Are they always this inviting? [ A warm welcome to space? Not so much. ]

[ She doesn't startle easily, thankfully. So when she hears him approach, she turns, ready to defend herself but still managing to keep her posture mostly relaxed.] I don't... I've never been on one... [ Her eyes scan him for a moment before she asks---] Wait, so... you're not a part of the crew or some kind of welcoming committee? Who are you?

[scarecrowed]

That makes two of us.

[ He watches her examine him, not blaming her for being wary of him. He'd criticize her for not being that way after waking up where they are. ]

I'm neither crew nor committee. I go by the name Lucas. [ Roan is his real name, but he finds it hard to attach himself to it when it comes with a whole life he knows nothing about. ] What may I call you?

[ Even knowing his name, she's still wary of him, her eyes look him over once before she answers.] Caroline. My name is Caroline. [ She glances to the side and then the other.]

So you're not the person who brought me here.

[scarecrowed]

No... but I suppose I have nothing to prove that. Nor anything from you to prove to me that you didn't bring me here.

[ Have almost a smile. ] I guess we'll just have to trust each other, for now.

[ her lips quirk into a smile as a well.] Okay, that's fair. [ she looks around with a soft sigh.] Have you seen... any info? Anything that tells us about this place or how we got here?
